Briyani is loved by everyone. Specially by my hubby. So I used to make atleast 3 times a month.
There are few ingredients it's must for a biriyani. So far I have tried chicken dum Biriyani, srilankan style Beef Biriyani, Hyderabad Biriyani. My favourite from these is chicken dum Biriyani.
Biriyani is famous all around the world, it's a dish from India spread all around the world. Now a days thanks to the spice creaters, they made us easier by making packs of Biriyani mix. If not we will have to buy all the spice and grind in to a powder before we make the Biriyani. It will be a very difficult process .
So if the Biriyani mix is available at home , it will be so easy for you to make in 1 hour.
Till now I might have made Biriyani more than 50 times , so I feel it's easier to make biriyani than making rice and curry .
So let's see how I make the best Biriyani in the world . Why I say it's the best Biriyani in the world is I have tried in many restaurants but never get this taste , even my hubby use to say it's the best Biriyani .
You can make a Raita /a cucumber salad with curd as side dish . Or else if you are having visitors , you can make a pineapple curry , malfive fish fry, a chicken gravy , green peas curry and a coriander chatney. Your guests will never be disappointed if you kept a juggery pudding or watalappam as a dessert

Beef Biriyani Recipe
Ingredients for the marination for 1 kg Beef
- 1cup curd
- 1tbls coriander powder
- 2 table spoon Biriyani mix
- Grinded tomato puree 1 cup
- Pepper 1tea spoon
- Chllie powder 1tablespoon
- Salt
- Lime juice from 1 lemon
- Ginger garlic paste
Marinate the beef for about 1 hour or over night .
Making Biriyani
Ingredients for the Biriyani
- 1 kg Basmati/ Keeri samba Rice (Soak atleast 15mins/ not more than 30 mins)
- Chopped coriander 1cup
- Chopped mint leaves 1 cup
- Onions sliced 1 cup
- Ghee 1 table spoon
- Oil half a cup
- Bay leaves 2
- Curry leaves fee
- Pandan leaves small
- Cardamom pods 5
- Cinamon stick 2
- Gram Masala
Method
- In a large pot put 3tbls of oil and 1 table spoon of ghee.
- Add 3/4th cups of onions when the oil is heated.
- let it fry till the golden brown.and keep a side some of the fried onions for later garnishing.
- Now add bay leaf , cardamom, cinamon, Garam masala, chopped coriander and mint, give it a good mix.
- Put the marinated beef into the pot and mix well, pour 1 and a half cup of water and mix .
- If you are using a pressure cooker cover it and let the meat cook well, prabably it takes 4-5 whistles to get tender. if it is in a normal pot let it cook in awell coverd pot for about 1 hour.
- when you know the beef get tender ,Add the rice and mix well , Add another one cup of water and mix.
- make sure the water level is just 2cm from rice level
- let it cook by 1 whistel if its in the pressure cooker and low flam in the normal pot about 1 hour .
- when the rice is well cooked at water absorbed well off the flam.
- In a cup add 1 table spoon of milk ,yellow colouring and saffron or rose water and mis well.
- sprincle that misture over the rice , it will give the rice an extra colour and an aroma.
- Befor you serve Garnish with fried onions, coriander leaves, and mint leaves .
- Its Ready to serve now
